John Streeter

John Streeter is a licensed professional counselor at the Shenandoah Women’s Center in Martinsburg, W.Va., where has been in practice for a little over seven years. He specializes in dealing with victims of trauma. He volunteered at Camp Dawson as part of the mental health team representing the Jefferson/Morgan Counties of the American Red Cross.

Y ogi, John’s 90 lb. German Shepherd, also assisted John in interacting with the Hurricane Katrina evacuees. John and Yogi provided individual and group crisis counseling to the evacuees as well as the volunteers. John has been using Yogi in his practice for about 3 and a half years. The only training Yogi has had has been basic obedience training. “He’s a natural,” John said.
