Justin M. Weaver is an undergraduate broadcast news major at the P.I Reed School of Journalism, from Fairview W.Va. Weaver’s first news experience was as an intern at his local television news station, WDTV, as a junior in high school. A month after the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks, Weaver traveled to New York City with the station’s lead anchor.

Weaver has interned at WBOY in Clarksburg, W.Va. and the West Virginia Legislature’s Reference and Information Center in Charleston. While working in Charleston, he wrote for the weekly legislative publication Wrap Up, which reports on the various bills making their way through the legislative process.

He was one of three students to travel to New Orleans to document stories for the P.I Reed School of Journalism “Starting Over” Katrina project. He has also reported and produced stories for Pittsburgh based television station KDKA.

Most recently Weaver acted as a freelance producer/reporter for ABC’s “Good Morning America” during the Sago and Alma mine accidents that occurred in West Virginia in the winter of 2006.

During the Fall of 2006, he is continuing to work with “Good Morning America” as in intern at their New York City studios.
