Jennifer Simckowitz

Jennifer Simckowitz, 22, is a December 2005 news-editorial graduate from the P.I. Reed School of Journalism. She grew up in Port Jefferson on Long Island, N.Y. She originally attended Pace University in Manhattan and transferred to West Virginia University in her third year.

Simckowitz started writing for a small entertainment magazine on campus, which sparked her interest in art and entertainment. Last summer she wrote for The Long Island Pulse, a business and entertainment magazine, and The Times Beacon Record, a widely distributed newspaper. She also writes for the student run newspaper The Daily Athenaeum and the Clarksburg Exponent-Telegram.

She is actively involved on campus; she is the vice president of Diversity In Media Association and vice president and social/membership chair of Society of Professional Journalists. She also is a charter member of National Exemplary Scholars in Service.
