Raynell Goff
Raynell Goff, 46, worked as a general contractor in New Orleans prior to being displaced by Hurricane Katrina. His pain from the storm is immeasurable as he lost his uncle, and his dog Bowser, who was his companion for 8 years. At Camp Dawson, he opened up a free carwash to give something back to the community that was giving so much to him. Alongside his friend Sarge, he cooked a gumbo dinner for the Glenda and Greg Avery’s wedding at Camp Dawson, offering a taste of New Orleans to all who attended. “I haven’t felt this loved in so long,” Goff said. “It’s not enough to say you appreciate something, show em’ you appreciate it.”
